Twin Wine – Sicilian Grapevines is a box designed to offer an experience of conscious and in-depth tasting.
The idea behind it is simple: start from the native grape variety to get to know Sicily, and through the bottles discover the work of the wineries and the different interpretations of the territory.
Each selection offers two wines made from the same grape variety, but vinified differently or by different producers. The direct comparison allows you to understand how climate, soil, and winemaking choices can lead to results that are very different from each other, even starting from the same grape.
Choose the box you prefer:
Nocera
Nocera is a grape variety widespread in the Milazzo area and in the sandy and volcanic soils of the Messina region. The bottles offered come from the Vigna Nica winery, in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, overlooking the Aeolian Islands.
The natural freshness of Nocera allows this red grape variety to be vinified in original interpretations. To discover the versatility of Nocera, we recommend:
- to taste it pure, the extra brut sparkling wine produced with the ancestral method.
- the biodynamic rosé from Vigna Nica, where Nocera and Nero d'Avola balance each other.
Frappato
A native red grape variety grown in the Ragusa area, Frappato is known for its lightness, fragrant aromas, and smooth drinkability. To get to know it, we recommend two organic labels from the Gurrieri winery in Chiaramonte Gulfi:
- the Frappato pure
- the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG (40% Frappato, 60% Nero d’Avola), the only Sicilian DOCG denomination
The comparison highlights the difference between the immediacy of the single-varietal and the complexity of the blend.
Grillo
Grillo is one of the most representative native white grape varieties of Sicily, born from the natural crossing between Catarratto and Zibibbo. To taste it, we offer:
- the Grillo pure from the Gurrieri winery
- the Mamertino bianco from the Vigna Nica winery, where Grillo is paired with Inzolia
Two interpretations that highlight, on one hand, the freshness and linearity of the grape variety and, on the other, greater complexity and elegance.
Nero d’Avola
The emblematic grape variety of Sicily and the protagonist of the island’s winemaking revival starting from the 1980s. We suggest tasting it pure and in a lesser-known and very special blend:
- the Nero d'Avola from the Baglio Diar winery
- the Mamertino D.O.C. from the Vigna Nica winery, an ancient blend already appreciated by the ancient Romans, where Nero d’Avola joins Nocera and Nerello Mascalese
If you want to gift the box, you can add the two-bottle packaging to best present an original and refined gift.

Radice Eterna is an Extra Brut Ancestral Method Sparkling Wine made from 100% Nocera, an indigenous grape variety grown in northeastern Sicily using organic and biodynamic practices, without chemical interventions.
The harvest is manual, in small crates.
Vinification takes place as a white wine, in an inert atmosphere. The wine is bottled during fermentation, without adding yeasts or sugars. The sparkling is naturally formed. The 8-month bottle aging develops fine perlage, tension, and aromatic depth.
Organoleptic Profile
Intense and bright pink color.
On the nose, strawberry, raspberry, and summer flowers, with a mineral hint recalling the hillside origin and proximity to the sea.
On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and balanced. The bubbles are fine and persistent, accompanying a long, dry, clean finish.
What is the Ancestral Method
The Ancestral Method involves bottling the wine during fermentation, without added sugars. The secondary fermentation occurs naturally in the bottle.
The result is a more direct, less contrived wine, truer to the grape variety.
